Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 Instant Impression

The Winflo 7 is the seventh edition of the Winflo series. This model compares closely to the Pegasus, Downshifter, and Vomero Nike models. It is a neutral shoe that is extremely cushioned for long runs or cross-training.

The Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 has a blend of technology and frills at an attractive price.
The first impression is the yarn patterned upper and the arrow-pointing toe area. The toe area has contrasting inner and upper layers to achieve both comfort and breathability.

Those who have worn it have admitted to feeling uncomfortable during the first trial. However, the shoe gets comfortable with time. Still, with the arrow pointing toe-box, those with narrow feet were unlucky with the shoes. Hence, the narrow toe box makes it less roomy. It is a perfect shoe for those with narrow feet.

The upper mesh gives a runner a warm fit. That if you don’t have a broad foot. What makes it more comfortable is the insole that wraps around your foot and the Zoom air pods in the forefoot and the heel zones. Though it fetches a relatively low price, the quality material used in the engineering of the Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 makes it not less a premium running shoe.

Despite the excess rubber and foam, Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 is extremely lightweight.

Nike Air Zoom Winfo 7 Sole Component

Nike Air zoom Winflo 7 midsole

The first noticeable thing about the midsole is its chunkiness. The thick stacked foam provides comfort and stability. The ultimate comfort comes from the Air Zoom pods placed in both the forefoot and heel zones. The midsole may lack the premium React foam, but it stills feels springy, just like the React Infinity, Pegasus 37, and React Epic.

The outsole has a carbon rubber running from the heel area and stretching up to the toe guard. The waffles pattern of the carbon rubber offers sufficient traction. The rubber bends upwards from the ball of the foot to form a pigeon toe effect. This allows your foot to roll smoothly during foot strike.

The Zoom air pod offers an excellent energy return for a soft ride. It even gets better when making high pace sprints. The Zoom air pod, lightweight, and carbon rubber in the outsole combine to make Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 a great shoe for long, short, and treadmill runs.

The curve in the heel and the little bend at the foot provides a smooth heel-to-toe strike.

Some users did not like how the Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 performs in the gym. Though perfect on treadmill runs, most users reported that Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7's sole feels too chunky and unstable when doing squats.

Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 Upper Component

The upper layer of the Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 is made of seamless mesh with cool patterns. The well-knitted mesh offers both comfortable feel. The mesh perfectly retains less water; hence, it is superbly breathable. Also, the mesh has overlays mask for durability.

The insole is also well cushioned to protect your foot from ground impact.
The Nike Zoom series seem to have the same heel cup and heel neck design. Like the Zoom Pegasus and Zoom React series, the Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 has light padding in the heel cup, heel neck, and the tongue yet soft enough to prevent irritation.

However, the heel tab extends up to the ankle to compensate for the less cushioning and provide snag fit. The extending heel tab also makes the shoe easy to wear.
